Introductory Advice For Those Mastering Chinese
There are many people who travel to China for business, vacation and simply for the sake of traveling to different places but do not learning Chinese online. You may have always wanted to learn and thought that it would take too much time. If you found out it could take you less time than you thought, would you take the lessons?
Learning Chinese does not have to be hard, like you would think. By taking lessons and practicing regularly you could take little time and find it quite easy to complete. For those who know a little already, one month is all that is needed to speak entire sentences and understand what is being said back. For the average learner, one week is needed to speak whole sentences.
These are only for those wanting to learn to speak the language and not to write or read it. In order to read and write the language, fluency in speaking is not required. Grammatical lessons and learning about the type of words and phrases used commonly in written form however is very important and can take time. A person of average learning speed could expect to learn the alphabet inside of a week, reading and writing it completely.
Chinese is considered a sinitic language, meaning that it is in a family of other languages that are unintelligible between one another in different aspects. Almost one fifth of the world speaks some type of Chinese. There are different variations of this language based on the tone used when speaking it as well as the area.
Up to thirteen dialects of the language exist due to classifications and Mandarin is the most common with the next most common being Cantonese. Standard Mandarin or Chinese is the main spoken language for Beijing and the PRC. It is not only spoken in the United States and Singapore but Chinese is also one of 6 languages that the United Nations uses.
Other areas that Chinese is spoken in include but are not limited to the Philippines, Indonesia, Peru, Hong Kong and Malaysia. Speaking the language and learning it will depend on the area in which you decide to visit and the dialect used there. Writing or reading the characters will also depend on these instances.
To speak Chinese, most companies and many individuals offer home lessons. The most popular are those with CDs to listen and learn pronunciation accompanied by books and daily practice time for perfection. Other types of lessons exist such as private tutoring and the military also offers courses. You should decide the best way for you to learn and this will cut the amount of time needed. If you learn faster by hearing and repeating, the CDs are ideal.
If you are experienced and have a bit of the language already, using the reading books could be ideal for you to learn how to read and write. For additional information on solutions to learn Chinese and where you can get lessons locally, talk to a librarian. They will probably have a list of different languages course as well as some free information you may be able to use.
